What Is The 1000 HORN$ Campaign?

The 1,000 HORN$ Campaign is a commitment from 1,000 alumni and friends of Winston-Salem State University who make an annual contribution of $1,000 to the Winston-Salem State University Department of Athletics.

The 1,000 HORN$ Campaign serves as the platform for increasing the resources of the WSSU Department of Athletics and can be designated for athletic scholarships, athletic operations or designated to a specific WSSU Athletic team.

Investing In Champions

Caring people make investments in the things they consider important. They invest time, talent, and support in what they believe can make a difference for themselves and in the lives of others. For years the WSSU Athletic Department developed a tradition of producing superb student athletes. Since 2003, nearly 80 percent of WSSU's basketball and football student-athletes and over 84 percent of WSSU's Olympic sport student-athletes have graduated on schedule.  In 2009, 44 WSSU student-athletes were named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Commissioner's All-Academic Team. These are just a few points of pride that are achieved by our student-athletes. This is also why we all must continue to support the Athletic program at WSSU in order for the tradition to continue.  The support of the 1,000 HORN$ Campaign helps WSSU fund the future athletic and academic endeavors of our student-athletes.
