Personal:Albert Lewis Roseboro is honored for meritorious service to the athletic program at Winston-Salem State University. He began his career at WSSU as a member of the Rams football team where he was a decorated four-year starter and a team captain. Roseboro was a two-sport star for the Rams as he was also a member of the tennis team and was selected as team co-captain. Roseboro graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education in 1965. He received a Masters Degree from North Carolina A&T State University in 1979. He has served as head coach of the men's golf, men's tennis, and women's volleyball teams. He is currently the winningest women's volleyball coach in university history. Roseboro served as assistant football coach under Cleo Wallace and William "Bill" Hayes while serving as Chief Recruiter for all of WSSU's intercollegiate athletic programs. Roseboro served as the University's Athletic Director from 1991 to 1997 and has the distinction of being the only alumnus to serve in this capacity. Roseboro was known as the "Voice of the WSSU Rams' and is currently the "Voice of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA)". Roseboro is also a member of the CIAA Athletic Hall of Fame. He retired from the university as Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs in 2004 after nearly three decades of tireless service to Winston-Salem State University.
