Six Rams Named to 2017 USTFCCCA All-Region TeamNEW ORLEANS, LA – After a successful 2017 season, the honors started coming in for the Winston-Salem State Rams women’s indoor track & field team with six team members earning spots on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Team. February 22, 2017Rams' Season Ends With Hard-Fought 68-54 Loss to #12 Virginia UnionCHARLOTTE, NC – One of their most impressive performances of the season was not quite enough for the Winston-Salem State Rams (14-14) when the team took a hard-fought 68-54 loss to the #12 Virginia Union Lady Panthers (23-3) in the quarterfinal round of the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament. The Rams took the loss in spite of a tremendous performance that saw the team led for 24 of the 40 minutes played.
February 21, 2017Big Second Half Lifts Rams to 50-41 Win Over Elizabeth City State in Opening Round of 2017 CIAA TournamentCHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (14-13) needed a big second half to take a 50-41 win over the Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings (5-18), Tuesday afternoon. After taking a 21-18 deficit into the locker room at halftime, the Rams outscored the Lady Vikings, 32-20 to claim the victory and to advance to the quarterfinal round of the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament.
February 20, 2017Tate Named to 2017 All-CIAA TeamCHARLOTTE, NC – After a successful regular season, the honors came in for the Winston-Salem State Rams women’s basketball team when junior center Kandace Tate was selected for the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Conference team. She was selected as a member of the All-CIAA frontcourt and was the only WSSU player selected to the team.
