CHARLOTTE, NC – One of their most impressive performances of the season was not quite enough for the Winston-Salem State Rams (14-14) when the team took a hard-fought 68-54 loss to the #12 Virginia Union Lady Panthers (23-3) in the quarterfinal round of the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament. CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (14-13) needed a big second half to take a 50-41 win over the Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings (5-18), Tuesday afternoon. Tate Named to 2017 All-CIAA TeamCHARLOTTE, NC – After a successful regular season, the honors came in for the Winston-Salem State Rams women’s basketball team when junior center Kandace Tate was selected for the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Conference team. The Rams earned the seeding after a successful 2016-17 regular season where the team posted 6-4 record in division play and a 13-13 overall record.

There was no shortage of effort for the Rams in the tough loss, especially in the second half, but the team was outgunned by the aggressive, uptempo play of the Lady Blue Bears.
