WSSU Competition Team Places Fourth at 2010 MEAC Cheerleading Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Powerhouse of Red & White Competition team placed fourth in the All-Girls Division of the 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Cheerleading Championships, Monday evening. Junior Regan Hales had another strong performance at the competition, earning second-place honors in the All-Star competition for the second year in a row.

After a pair of top-three finishes in the All-Girls Division at the championships, the Lady Rams will look to stay strong when they return to action, Monday evening.

The Winston-Salem State University Cheerleaders exemplify a distinctive style that has molded its programs tradition since the early 1980's. The program has begun to develop a Division I college cheerleading program that is competitive at the regional level.

This dynamic group of young women and men work tirelessly to generate and exude Ram spirit at athletic sporting events, community and charitable functions. Through true leadership and athleticism the WSSU cheerleaders create a game atmosphere that involves the participation of its WSSU student body, alumni and all Ram supporters. Through which each Ram fan witnesses the ultimate WSSU game experience.

In addition to managing the game environment the Winston-Salem State University Cheerleaders serve as public ambassadors for intercollegiate athletics, the University and its surrounding community.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Winston-Salem State University cheerleading advisor Lori Dobbins announced on Tuesday that the Lady Rams' cheerleading program will hold their fourth annual instructional cheerleading camp in the C.E. Gaines Center, from June 19-21, 2008. The instructional camp is designed to develop all beginner, intermediate, and advanced cheerleaders, ages 7-17, under the guidance of certified instructors.
