WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Several Winston-Salem State University Rams baseball players are getting well earned post season honors for their play on the diamond in 2012.

First baseman, and 2012 CIAA Player of the Year, Aaron Jones, along with All-CIAA second baseman, German Reyes, were named to the 2012 Daktronics, Inc. Division II All-Atlantic Region team.  The team is selected by the region's sports information directors.

Jones finished the season as the Rams leading hitter, batting .460, with 91 hits, 19 doubles, six home runs and 59 rbi's.  He is ranked third in the NCAA in batting average and eighth in hits.

Reyes was second on the team with a .434 batting average, with 85 hits, 19 doubles and a team high 10 home runs to go with 55 rbi's.  He is ranked fifth in batting average, 20th in hits and ninth in slugging %.

Aaron Jones was also named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association 2012 Division II All-Atlantic Region Team. He was a second team selection.

Joining Jones on the NCBWA All-Atlantic Region Team as honorable mention selections are German Reyes at second base; Paco Martin at shortstop; and Scott Wells as a starting pitcher.

Martin batted .406 for the year (3rd on team), with 86 hits, a team high 21 doubles, 43 rbi's and a team high 55 runs scored.  Martin is also ranked as the 29th hardest player to strike out in NCAA DII.

Wells finished 2012 with a team leading 1.55 ERA, going 8-1. Wells pitched 58.0 innings allowing just 10 earned runs, 12 walks and striking out 39 on the season.
