RAMS FAULTER LATE, FALL TO #14 MILLERSVILLE 6-4

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –Winston-Salem State surrendered fives run over the last four innings as the Rams dropped the third game of the series to #14 Millersville University 6-4 Sunday afternoon at BB&T Ballpark.

Millersville got on the scoreboard first, scoring a run in the top of the first inning.

WSSU tied the score in the third inning, as Ray Crawford grounded out to short stop, but Leland Clemmons, who initially doubled in the innings, scored on Crawford play.

The Rams would come back with a big inning in bottom of the fifth, as Ray Crawford singled scoring Aaron Hatch to give the Rams a 2-1 lead. Gavin Culler drew a walk to load the bases and Conner Andrus walked to score Gabian Mundo. Levi Grassley hit a a sacrifice fly to deep center field to score Ray Crawford giving the Rams a 4-1 lead heading into the last third of the game.

But over the next three innings, the Marauders would score five runs on six hits with one WSSU error helping out, to give Millersville the 6-4 win, and take the series 2 games to one.

Ray Crawford continued his hot hitting streak to start the season, going three for five with two runs batted in, while Conner Andrus was one for three with a run batted in and Levi Grassley also picked up an rbi. Leland Clemmons and Gabian Mundo each went one for four with a run scored. Clemmons also had a double

Tyler McDonald went four for five with a run scored, and Kurt Seiders, Mark Stuckey and Chas McCormick each went two for four. Tyler Orris, Seiders, Zach Stone, Dan Johnson and Dan Stoltzfus each had a run batted in.

Winston-Salem State will be back in action on Tuesday evening, as the Rams host Bluefield State at BB&T Ballpark at 4:00 p.m.
