WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Winston-Salem State pounded out 16 runs on 19 hits, as the Rams blew out the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals 16-2 in the first game of a double header played at BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem.

After falling behind early, the Rams used the middle innings to score 16 unanswered runs in route to the win.

With the victory Winston-Salem State improves to 5-5 on the season, while the Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit fall to 0-2.

Winston-Salem State had five different players with three rbi's each, and three players with three hits each to help the team rolled to the win.

Levi Grassley led the Rams' hitting attack going three for four with three rbi's and a home run, while Devin McLemore went three for five with three rbi's and three runs scored. Ray Crawford also had three hits in six at-bats, with three rbi's. Leland Clemmons went two for four with three rbi's and two runs scored and Gavin Culler also went two for four with three rbi's and two runs scored. Jacob Barber was two for five with an rbi and a run scored. Chris Kane finished two for three with two runs scored.

Aaron Hatch had a solid outing on the mound, going six innings, allowing five hits and two run, while striking out three. Seth McHaffey pitched one hitless and scoreless inning, and Hayden O'Neal pitched two scoreless and hitless innings.
