Rams Fall At Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY, NC – Winston-Salem State fell behind big early, and could not overcome the large deficit, as the Rams fell 13-2 to the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears on Wednesday night at Bear Field in Hickory, NC.

Lenoir-Rhyne took control of the game early, with five runs in the first inning, and four in the third to take a commanding lead.

WSSU was able to finally get on the scoreboard in the third inning, when outfielder, Jason Baytop, hit a mammoth home run to deep left center field

Sam Burton took the loss for the Rams, giving up four runs and two hits while walking two. Corbin Easter threw an inning, allowing one run on two hits with a strikeout. Garrison Roy

Jason Baytop finished 1 for 4 with one run scored, one home run and two runs batted in. Landon Steiner went 2 for 4 and Willie McRae went 1 for 2 with a run scored. Emilio Abreu went 1 for 3, while Randy Norris and Michael McNamara each went 1 for 4.
