HICKORY, NC – Winston-Salem State fell behind big early, and could not overcome the large deficit, as the Rams fell 13-2 to the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears on Wednesday night at Bear Field in Hickory, NC.
Lenoir-Rhyne took control of the game early, with five runs in the first inning, and four in the third to take a commanding lead.
WSSU was able to finally get on the scoreboard in the third inning, when outfielder, Jason Baytop, hit a mammoth home run to deep left center field
Jason Baytop finished 1 for 4 with one run scored, one home run and two runs batted in. Landon Steiner went 2 for 4 and Willie McRae went 1 for 2 with a run scored. Emilio Abreu went 1 for 3, while Randy Norris and Michael McNamara each went 1 for 4.
