Rams Ranked 30th in Final Collegiate Baseball Poll

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Winston-Salem State baseball, all season long, has had to pull itself up by the bootstraps. The Rams did just that. The upset of No. 3 regionally ranked powerhouse Seton Hill, then the Rams took care of #4 regionally ranked Millersville, followed by the Rams defeating #5 Shippensburg, and finally defeating #1 Mercyhurst propelled the Rams into the Collegiate Baseball Top 30 ranking for the second time in program history.

The WSSU Rams lost their opening game of the Regional to West Chester, 5-4, before rebounding to beat Seton Hill 5-3, Millersville, 10-8, Shippensburg, 9-8 and Mercyhurst 6-1.

Winston-Salem State, 39-19 overall, was one game away from going to the D2 College World Series, but lost a winner-take-all final to the West Chester Golden Rams 12-7 in the regional final.

The Rams were the only CIAA School or HBCU to make the final rankings,

WSSU gained a lot of praise and respect for the CIAA in the way that they played in the Jamestown, NY Regional hosted by Mercyhurst.

The final Collegiate Baseball Rankings have been released and the WSSU Rams were ranked #30 in the final Collegiate Baseball Poll.
