2011-12: Tyre made real strides as a player in his sophomore season…He stepped up to become a quality player as one of the team’s reserves and showed up in key moments for the Rams…He played in 26 games with no starts…He finished the season averaging 2.5 points and 1.1 rebounds per game…He also hit three three-pointers for the season…He scored a career-high 13 points against Washington Adventist…He also added seven points at Elizabeth City State, which included hitting the game-winning jumper…

2010-11: Tyre played in 19 games for the Rams…He played a total of 61 minutes with no starts…He finished the season averaging 0.6 points per game…His best effort of the season came with three points against Livingstone at home…He also added scores at Virginia Union, vs. Fayetteville State, at Johnson C. Smith, and vs. Fayetteville State in the 2011 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Tournament.

Personal: Tyre joined the Rams basketball program in the fall of 2010 where was one of many talented newcomers to the team…He joins the Rams after a strong career at Petersburg High School where he earned numerous honors, playing with the Crimson Wave…During his career, he led the Crimson Wave to an impressive 29-1 record and the District 8 Regional Championship…The team was also the runners-up in the state championships…He earned second-team All-District honors and was named the Defensive Player of the Year…He is the son of John Walker and Natalie Desmore.
