    FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (5-19, 3-11 CIAA) ended several skids when the team took a 67-64 road win over the Fayetteville State Broncos (7-18, 4-10 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. The Rams made several clutch plays to claim their first win of 2018 and their first road win of the season.

    BANNER ELK, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-19) could not find enough offense to keep up with the Lees-McRae Bobcats (19-7) in a 104-80 road loss, Tuesday evening. The Rams gave a solid overall effort, but the team could not keep up with the high-powered offense of the Bobcats.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-18, 2-11 CIAA) held late lead, but the team could not quite hold up to a powerful offensive attack in a 79-69 loss to the Shaw Bears (16-8, 9-4 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. The Rams held a late lead over the Bears, but the team fell against a high-pressure defensive effort in the tough loss to the Bears.
  • Rams Fall in Final Seconds of a 63-60 Loss at Saint Augustine's

    RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-17, 2-10 CIAA) held a two-point lead in the final seconds, but the team allowed five points in the final 18 seconds of the game to take the heartbreaking loss to the Falcons. The loss was the second time in three seasons that the Falcons have handed the Rams a loss in the final seconds of play. The Rams also took a 58-55 loss to the Falcons in 2016 after a three-pointer at the buzzer.
  • Rams Stay Close, But Fall Short in 79-73 Loss at Livingstone

    SALISBURY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-16, 2-9 CIAA) gave a solid effort, but some struggles at the free throw line cost the team dearly in a 79-73 road loss to the Livingstone Blue Bears (8-9, 6-5 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. The Rams kept the game within reach, but the team could not quite get over the hump in the hard-fought loss to the Blue Bears.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams will get an unexpected break as Tuesday’s men’s basketball game against the Tusculum Pioneers has been cancelled. The game was cancelled due to electrical issues affecting the C.E. Gaines Center. 
  • Final Minute Struggles Cost Rams in 76-75 Loss to Johnson C. Smith

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-15, 2-8 CIAA) took a lead into the final seconds, but allowed some costly free throws in a 76-75 loss to the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls (12-7, 5-2 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. The Rams controlled much of the game and took a lead into the final seconds, but the team fell just shy late to take their second straight home loss by a combined three points and added more heartbreak to the team’s current struggles.
  • Rams Take Heartbreaking 71-69 Loss to Fayetteville State

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-14, 2-7 CIAA) had their hearts broken in a 71-69 loss to the Fayetteville State Broncos (5-14, 4-5 CIAA), Wednesday. The Rams held a 69-68 lead with just under two seconds left, but an FSU three-pointer at the buzzer sent the Rams home with the loss, Wednesday evening.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-12, 2-5 CIAA) gave all they had, but the team could not hold up in a 93-82 loss to the Shaw Bears (10-6, 4-2 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. The Rams had a solid overall game with an impressive second half, but the Rams could not keep up with an aggressive and sharp-shooting effort by the home standing Bears.
  • Free Throw Woes Cost Rams in 74-65 Loss to Saint Augustine's

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-12, 2-5 CIAA) gave a tremendous effort to overcome a slow first half, but the Rams fell short in a 74-65 loss to the Saint Augustine’s Falcons (9-9, 6-1 CIAA) in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division opener, Saturday afternoon. Shooting woes from the floor and at the free throw line cost the Rams in the hard-fought loss.

    ELIZABETH CITY, NC  - There was no shortage of fight in the Winston-Salem State Rams (4-11, 2-4 CIAA), but the team fell short in a 78-66 road loss to the Elizabeth City State Vikings (5-5, 1-2 CIAA), Monday evening. The Rams had a solid showing in the game, but the team didn’t have what it took to keep up with the Vikings, Monday.

    MURFREESBORO, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-10, 2-3 CIAA) ran out of gas when the team took an 82-65 loss at Chowan (5-7, 1-3 CIAA), Saturday evening. Playing in their second came in 24 hours, the Rams struggled to find their offense in tough loss.
  • Rams' Late Comeback Falls Short in 78-73 Loss at #17 Virginia State

    ETTRICK, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-7, 2-2 CIAA) staged a late comeback, but the team came up short in a 78-73 road loss to the #17 Virginia State Trojans (12-1, 2-1 CIAA), Friday evening. The Rams trailed for much of the second half, but tied the game in the final minutes of play, but the team could not get the win as the Trojans hit some key shots and free throws to hand the Rams the loss.
  • Rams State Late Comeback to Claim 69-67 Win Over Bowie State

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-8, 2-1 CIAA) got their second straight Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) win in dramatic fashion with 69-67 win over the Bowie State Bulldogs (5-8, 0-2 CIAA), Monday evening. After falling behind by as many as 18 points in the second half, the Rams staged a furious comeback, highlighted by a pair of free throws, a key block, and a game-winning drawn charge by junior forward Jamel McAllister to claim the win for the Rams.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (3-8, 1-1 CIAA) got back to their winning ways, Saturday afternoon when the team took a 64-56 win over the Lincoln (Pa.) Lions (6-6, 1-1 CIAA). The Rams turned to their defense to get the win as they held the Lions to just 56 points and shooting just 34.4% (21-of-61) from the floor.

After trailing early, the Rams had a big second half, but fell just short in a hard-fought loss to the Panthers.

With a tied score with just four seconds left to play, the Rams allowed a Panther three-pointer to seal the team’s loss.

The Rams had a dunk and three key free throws in the final minute of play to claim their second home win of the season and ended a six-game losing streak with a two-point win over Bluefield State.

The Rams struggled to put points on the scoreboard as they took the tough road loss in a non-conference match up against the Panthers.

    RICHMOND, VA - The Winston-Salem State Rams (1-5) gave a great effort, but some second half struggles cost the team in a hard-fought 84-81 loss to the Elizabeth City State Vikings (3-1) on the opening day of the 2017 Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Virginia Union University, Saturday afternoon. After taking a 50-37 lead into the locker room at halftime, the Rams were held to just 31 second half points to take the loss.

The Rams gave a solid overall effort, but the team could not stop a hot-shooting Catawba that exploded in the second half.

    PETERSBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (20-7) began their quest for the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Championship in impressive fashion as the team took a three-set win over the Virginia Union Panthers (15-11). The Rams rolled to the win behind a great overall effort to claim the 25-16, 25-18, and 25-15 win.
  • Rams Take an 87-72 Loss to Morehouse at CIAA/SIAC Challenge

    RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (1-2) gave a solid effort, but the team could not stop the Morehouse Tigers (3-0) in an 87-72 loss in the opening game of the CIAA/SIAC Challenge hosted by Shaw University on the campus of Shaw University. The Rams took the loss behind a solid shooting effort, but the team could not find a way to stop the scorching hot Maroon Tigers.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (1-1) could not quite find the answers that they needed in an 89-77 loss to the Concord Mountain Lions (2-0), Saturday evening. After taking an early lead, the Rams faded late and could not get back into the game in a hard-fought loss.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The target is on the Winston-Salem Salem State Rams as the WSSU men’s basketball team was picked to finish fourth overall and on top of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division, Wednesday evening. The WSSU duo of sophomore guard Robert Colon and junior forward William Crandell were also named to the 2017-18 Preseason All-CIAA team as well.
