Personal: The 2004-05 season will mark Thompson's first as a member of the WSSU men's basketball coaching staff...He is no stranger to WSSU basketball as he was a four-year starter for the Rams from 1998-02 and was a member of the Rams' back-to-back CIAA Championship teams in 1999 and 2000...A 2002 graduate of Winston-Salem State University with a B.A. in Therapeutic Recreation, with a minor in Psychology...Recently earned his Master's degree in Parks and Resource Management from Slippery Rock University (PA) in May of 2004 where he served as a Gradaute Assistant Coach with the Slippery Rock men's basketball team under head coach John Marhefka...His main duties will include working with the WSSU post players, recruiting, scounting, and academic monitoring...He performed those same duties at Slippery Rock as well as being the head of scouting.
