Winston-Salem, NC - Alleggrie Guinn (So./G/6'2"/185/Charlotte, NC) scored five of his game-high 25 points and pulled down five of his eight rebounds, as well as collected three blocks in the first five minutes of the contest, en route to leading the Rams to their fourth straight victory, this time over the Marauders of Central State University in a packed CE Gaines Center on Tuesday evening.
The visiting Marauders were a taller and more formidable lineup, at least on paper, but it would be execution, patience and intensity that would propel the Rams (4-1 overall, 0-0 CIAA) to the victory on Tuesday evening.
WSSU was the beneficiary of level-headed decision making in a contest that lasted over three hours, and saw the two teams combine for 42 turnovers and 64 fouls. The cool and collected Rams saw their opponents fly off the handle, earn three technical fouls, and have five of the twelve players on their roster foul out of the contest.
The Rams jumped out to an early lead and took a seven-point advantage into the locker room at halftime. The game, a closely contested affair throughout the entire first half, would get broken open in the second half as the Rams shot a blistering 70.6% in the second half. The Rams did so by executing their offense, one dominated by freshman and sophomores, as brilliantly as a one would expect from a much more experienced, senior-laden team.
The Rams had four players in double figures in the contest. Guinn turned in his career-high 25 points (previous high of 22 points), tallied eight boards, three blocks and a steal, but would not be alone. Joining him in the 20-plus point range was Audly Wehner (Fr./F/6'6"/215/Fayetteville, NC) who chipped in with 22 points, seven rebounds, two blocks, one steal and zero turnovers. The Rams also had Rashad McGee (Jr./G/5'10"/190/Waxhaw, NC) and Terris Sifford (Jr./F/6'4"/195/Cleveland, NC) tally 11 points each in the contest.

Leading the way for the Marauders was Adam Ellis (Jr./F/6'5"/200/Springfield, OH) with 13 points and five rebounds, on 5 for 12 shooting in the loss.
The win, the fourth straight for the Rams, will provide much-needed momentum for WSSU as they have two days off for Thanksgiving and return to the road on Saturday as they travel to Bowie, MD to take on the 2002-03 CIAA Champion Bulldogs of Bowie State.
