COACH STITT:
On What Worked: "I think that our pressure worked in spurts...they are big...We knew that...We definitely had to step up tonight and I think that we did that."
Coming off of three straight losses......"We had nervousness, and tension, everyone wanted to break the streak, and we have been playing only halves, and we played a whole game tonight....We just relaxed, and settled down....played well,."
On The Media Timeouts helping his team..."So much time in the TV time outs, I don't always know what to say...And we are a high pressure team. We don't want those extra breaks...we want to keep the pressure high."
Did you expect the game to see-saw? "We would get up 6, 7 8 and Central came back, and we would pull ahead by a few...I'm just glad we were up at the end...It was great college basketball game."
Now that you beat the division leaders where does WSSU go? "We have five more conference games left, and have to go to one of the toughest buildings in the conference at St. Augustine's on Tuesday...We can relax tomorrow "Sunday" and get ready Monday for Tuesday's game against St. Aug, a team that beat us at our place."
Is this game a momentum builder? "I hope so,...it sure feels better in the locker room after this win. We need to continue to play a constant full game like we did tonight."
With the lead changes, and you see different things, were your concerned that WSSU wouldn't hold up?..."We were playing pretty well in the 2nd half and I think that you need to have good point guard play, and tonight Rashad did that. We got what we needed from our guards. We were smaller. And most people wouldn't have given us a chance being small like we are...but we came to play tonight.
On the CIAA..."Have to be ready to play every night. Night in and night out. If you don't come out hard and finish strong, anyone can beat anyone in this conference."

On the size difference..."Traditionally we are smaller than people and that is why we use the pressure like we do...to generate some easy buckets."
How did you see the game, from your perspective? "I say we played well and executed our stuff."
Tied a career high again (26) what's on your mind? "Its nice to get the scoring, but I like to win more...If the game dictates that I score to help the team win, then that is what I do. If it dictates that I give it up, that's what I do...I just go play hard and we were playing as a team an looking inside first then kicking it outside, and that seemed to work.
You were size-wise, overmatched by Whitaker, but did well against him. What was the key?... "I watched him play at the Legacy, and I saw how I could pump fake him....I used my quickness to beat him. He likes to try to block shots, so I got him in the air and used my speed to neutralize his height."
