Post Game Quotes Winston-Salem State 113 - Livingstone College 91
Senior Jay Maynard: Jay, you hit those three threes in a row. How did that feel on senior night? "It felt good, obviously. I found myself open, and worked to get open, and I just buried them. For the first time in a few games, I was hitting the open shots."
Senior John Adams: This was a big win. You needed this one. "Yeah. I think that we reintroduced ourselves to hard work. We fought hard and earned this one. When you work hard you get what you deserve, and we worked for this one."
Senior Vince Sessoms: Its good to finish your last home game ever with a win. How's that feel? "It feels good. But most of all, it's a win. We have been struggling lately and it is good just to get back on track. Now we have to go to Capel Arena [at Fayetteville State] and try to get another one against a good team. We are all just preparing for the tournament now. It is important."
Head Coach Philip Stitt: Coach, what are your general assessments of tonight's game? "The difference between tonight's game and how we have been playing lately, is that tonight, we played hard. And effort, its amazing. Its amazing how, the harder you play, the more good things happen."
So it was the hard work you stressed all week? "Yeah. We weren't worried about winning the game, we were worried about whether or not we were going to see the intensity that we are used to, because we knew, if we saw the intensity, that the winning would take care of itself."
You had some guys really step up again tonight. Audly Wehner had 29 points, Alleggrie really spread the ball around, Jay stepped up big. What are your thoughts? "What happens is, you are playing hard, and you get confidence, and then the shots will start to fall. And 34 assists, that's like WOW, that's amazing. But we must have given up quite a few layups because they had 27 assists."

Now you have to go into Fayetteville State and try to win in Capel Arena. "Which is tough, there is no doubt about that. Plus it is another televised game, which is really going to make it an even more hostile atmosphere, but we have got to have some pride because they really embarrassed us at our place. When they came here we didn't respond at all, and we got embarrassed in front of our home crowd."
Last year you lost there [in Fayetteville] on a put-back as time expires. Are you guys thinking about a little revenge? "Well, yeah. It can be but, this year's game, the one that we lost at home, is more important than worrying about last year. We have a chance this Saturday to kind of even up the slate a little bit, going down there. But obviously, we are going to play even better than we did tonight. That is a very good basketball team, and if we want to win, we need to step it up even more."
