However, a late personal foul on James Fisher, coupled with a technical foul assessed to Anthony Lalor, gave the Rams the chance to pull ahead just before the halftime intermission.
Alleggrie Guinn and Corey Parker each hit a pair of free throws that put the Rams back on top in the contest by four points, a lead that would drop back to only two following a Blue Bear basket headed into the locker room as WSSU led Livingstone 26-24 at the break.
The game's final 20 minutes of action saw the Rams jump out ahead in the early going of the second half as they mounted a lead which they would never relinquish en route to the 60-49 CIAA league victory, their 15th of the 2005-06 season.
WSSU was led by Corey Parker who tallied nine points as no WSSU roster player scored in double figures despite the fact that all nine players that entered the contest recorded points.
The Rams improve to 15-9 overall and 8-6 in the CIAA with the win (4-4 CIAA West) while the Blue Bears fall to 6-18 overall and 2-12 in the CIAA with the loss (0-8 CIAA West).
