Alabama A&M vs. Winston-Salem State
December 17, 2007
Post Game Quotes

Winston-Salem State Head Coach Bobby Collins

On the team's momentum:
"We were putting ourselves in the hole and we really had to dig and I told our team that the key to this game is getting the loose balls and the rebounds. In the second half Paul Davis really stepped up for us and made some big plays for us. Jamal [Durham] came up with some great rebounds. Darrell Wonge did an excellent job on defending in the post. Mike Puckett came off the bench and gave us spark early in the half - he had a big three that really got us going."

On tonight's win:
"Alabama A&M is a great team and I think this is a good indication of how we can compete in our league. This is a great win for our team at home where Alabama A&M is in their standings."

Senior Guard Roy Peake

On the 19-point deficit:
"I knew that our game plan would work because of our great coaching staff and I knew we were going to come into the second half with that momentum."

On the career high 18 points:
"Coach just told me to be patient. I just had to take my time and look for my chances."

Junior Transfer Guard Michael Puckett

On coming back in the second half:
"Defense, defense, defense."

Alabama A&M Head Coach Vann Pettaway

On tonight's performance:
"They [Winston-Salem State] had the momentum going into the second half and I told our guys we have to come out and control the first five minutes and we didn't do that. I tried to call timeouts to slow them down - I know I called two before they tied the game up, but when you give a team momentum it's hard to break."
