BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Wen Mukubu scored a career-high 24 points and Lawrence Kinnard added 15 points to lead the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) to a 84-53 win over Winston-Salem Saturday night.
Mukubu hit two 3-pointers to spur UAB (7-5) to a quick 12-0 lead. The Blazers led 42-16 at halftime and the lead grew to as many as 38 points in the second half as UAB never trailed in the contest and easily raced to their seventh win of the season.
The Rams (1-15) who are in midst of the their first season of Division I basketball have now played 13 of 16 games on the road and fall to a winless 0-13 record away from home. Saturday night's loss was WSSU's 12th consecutive defeat as WSSU continues their longest losing skid in over a decade.

Andre White scored 13 points and Maurice Gibbs had 10 to round out the double-digit scoring for the Blazers.
Paul Delaney III, UAB's leading scorer with an 18.9 average, was held to nine points but had 12 assists and a team high seven rebounds.
Darius Floyd scored 20 points and Brian Fisher added 17 for
UAB extended its home winning streak to 17 games with the victory as the Blazers now own the all-time series edge 1-0.
With the loss, the Rams fall t0 1-15 overall on the season while the Blazers improve to 7-5 overall.
