WINSTON-SALEM STATE UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF VARSITY CLUB

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Winston-Salem State University Athletic Department is proud to announce the intention to begin the Winston-Salem State University Athletic Varsity Club, an initiative that will tie the success of the past to the future endeavors of WSSU Athletics.

"Everyone who has been a part of the long storied history and tradition of WSSU athletics is wanted and needed to be a part of the future," said WSSU Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, Kevin Manns. "It is extremely important to make sure that each athlete who has donned the Red and White  of Winston-Salem State, knows that he or she is important to this department beyond that final whistle."

As a part of the formation of the Winston-Salem State University Athletic Varsity Club, updated contact information on all former players and coaches is needed. To assist in collection of this information, a short and convenient form is located at www.WSSURams.com on the front page under multimedia.

The Winston-Salem State University Athletic Varsity Club seeks those who participated in any sport, as well as cheerleading over the 119 years of the University.

"We are excited about the formation of the Winston-Salem State University Athletic Varsity Club," Manns says. "It is very important to ensure that the history and traditions that have been forged at WSSU over the past years will continue to flourish for many years to come."

Yearly dues for admission to the WSSU Varsity Club will be just $25.00, and the first event for the Winston-Salem State University Athletic Varsity Club will be a cookout at the WSSU Football Spring Game on Saturday, April 14th, at 12:00 p.m. at Glen High School in Kernersville, N.C. Membership applications will be available at the WSSU Spring Football Game.
