WSSU Rams Continue To Show Promise In 2nd Day

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Fresh off one of the fastest practices in head coach Kienus Boulware's tenure at WSSU, the Rams football team got back into action in the second day of fall camp.

Rain greeted the Rams this morning as the players stepped onto the practice field at Civitan Park, forcing them inside the Gaines Center Gym in their shells. Despite many clouds in the sky, some featuring a few raindrops, the team's focus and energy were not deterred.

"If you want to be successful, it's all about preparation," said Coach Boulware. "We got everyone busting their tail-ends out there. The pace and hustle have been outstanding."

"We are doing a little bit better than expected", said Boulware after completing the days practice session.

"We have some people out here competing, so that lets guys know that they have to compete if they want to get out on the field", says Boulware.

"We had a lot of guys who stayed around and worked hard with Marc Heneicke over the summer" so, so far things are ok."

"We're doing really well," said Boulware. "We are a really cohesive unit and are flying around out there. The young guys are really starting to catch on. It's a smart and motivated group of guys."

The Rams return to the gridiron tomorrow morning for a 9:00 a.m. practice that is open to the media and the public.
