Post Game Quotes
WSSU Head Coach Kermit Blount:
Coach, your thoughts?
We don't ever want to get into a situation where we have to score against an opponent. We want to play good defense and I thought that we played solid defense in the first half and for most of the fourth quarter. Offensively, we were just inconsistent, and offensively, when we play inconsistent, and I look at what we have done this year when we did that, we lose football games, and we can't do that.
Fayetteville State Head Coach Kenny Phillips
Coach, your thoughts? Especially on that 63-yard punt late. A pretty good one, right?
Boy, he needed that one. He couldn't hit those field goals today (laughs). Of course we tried that one field goal there in the hurricane winds that were blowing. We thought that if he got it up, he could get it, but he hit it low, and it didn't make it. That punt was a big punt though, at a clutch time, and that is the thing about him, sometimes he does things that make you scratch your head, and then he'll come back and punt the crap out of the football. It was a great win for us.
Running Back Martin Hicks
Do you feel like you were playing the type of game that you wanted to play? Do you think you guys were dictating things out there?
Nah, I think that we were slow. We were moving the ball, but for the second straight week we couldn't put it in the box. That was the big thing. We just couldn't get it in the box.
Was this game a microcosim of the things that have happened this season? A few little things here and there, and things would be different?
Yeah, it was. You can say that. It has been that way all season. You take one or two plays and we could be 3-2 or 4-2.

How do you move on after this. Are you even looking at the standings now?
Yeah, I mean right now were are playing not to be 1-9. We just want to get back to .500. I mean, do the best we can.
Quarterback Josh McGee
How is the toe today? How was it?
It hurts a bit, but nothing that I couldn't have dealt with. I took a couple shots on it.
Did you feel like they were real aggressive against you, trying to see if you could move and testing the foot?
Nah, I think that they did what they always do. Everything that we saw today was everything that we saw on tape, and they stuck to their game plan. They just played good defense and did a great job doing it.
You guys, in the first half, their offense was barely on the field. Do you feel that you were dictating the pace?
I thought that we were doing a good job, but throwing the ball we didn't do well. We just didn't capitalize on mistakes and didn't take advantage of opportunities.
