WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Peter Gaertner's 37-yard field goal with no time on the clock lifted the 13th-ranked Delaware State University Hornets past the Rams of Winston-Salem State University by the score of 23-20 on Saturday afternoon at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC as WSSU fell to 5-4 overall on the season.
· William Hayes' six yard fumble recovery for a touchdown was the Rams' first defensive score since DeRon Middleton returned an interception 39 yards for a touchdown versus
· The fumble return for a touchdown marked William Hayes' first touchdown of his WSSU career.

· The Rams drop their all-time record to 339-249-1 overall over the span of 65 seasons.
· WSSU head coach Kermit Blount drops to 86-68-3 overall and assures the Bill Hayes' 89 wins all-time at WSSU remains the record until next season.
· The loss drops the Rams all-time mark at Bowman Gray Stadium under head coach Kermit Blount to 41-24-1.
