Winston-Salem, NC - The old adage is that the rich get richer. That statement holds true for the Winston-Salem State University football program as the powerful Rams have once again gotten even stronger as Head Coach Kermit Blount announced on Friday that WSSU has signed nine players to national letters of intent to play football for the Rams.
The Rams, who finished the 2003 season on a four-game win streak in which they outscored their opponents 181-42 and posted two shutouts, have bolstered an already formidable lineup with their 2004 signees.
The nine players that have announced their intent to play football for the Rams are as follows: Player (High School, Hometown, Position, Height, Weight): Michael Miller (Eau Claire,Columbia, SC,DL,6'4"/295); Quinten Jones (W. Mecklenberg, Charlotte, NC, DL, 6'4"/285); Bennie Barbour (Smithfield, Smithfield, NC, OL, 6'6"/290); Harold Bennett (West Forsyth, Winston-Salem, NC, K/P-Return, 5'9"/180); Chas Sampson (Pine Forest, Fayetteville, NC, DL/DE, 6'4"/250); Thaddeus Griffin (Crestwood, Sumpter, SC, LB, 6'2"/230); Michael Helton (Crestwood, Dalzell, SC, OL, 6'3"/290); Steven Jordan (J.A. Holmes, Edenton, NC, OL, 6'4"/285); Justin Sherrod (Westover, Fayetteville, NC, QB, 6'1"/195).
