Weekly WSSU Football Press Conference To Follow Fieldhouse Groundbreaking

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Office of Athletic Media Relations has announced that the second of 11 weekly WSSU football press conferences/media luncheons will be held on Wednesday, August 30 at 11:00 am in the CE Gaines Media Room immediately following the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Athletic Department fieldhouse which is slated for 10:00 am at Bowman Gray Stadium.

 

Head football coach Kermit Blount and selected players will provide comments on this season's opening-game as well as field inquiries from the media.  Following the 30-minute interview session a complimentary lunch will be served to all members of the working media.

 

The press conference/media luncheon is open to all members of the local and national print, television, radio, and internet sports media.  The Rams will hold a weekly media session every Wednesday prior to a weekend football contest at 11:00 am in the Office of Athletic Media Relations/Media Room located in Office Suite 108 on the lower level of the CE Gaines Center.  This Wednesday will mark the second such media session with the remainder of the season's press conferences occurring on September 6, 20, and 27; October 4, 11, 18, and 25; and November 1 and 15. 

 

Head Coach Kermit Blount will be on hand every week to give general comments and field questions.  Requests for specific players must be made no later than Monday at 11:00 am prior to the upcoming Wednesday's press conference.  

 

The Rams will face the North Carolina A&T State University Aggies on the road on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 6:30 pm as WSSU looks to snap a seven-game losing streak to their Greensboro, NC rival.  WSSU is looking to earn their first win over the Aggies since a 13-10 victory that came during the 1991 season.
