Hampton, VA - Winston-Salem State University running back Martin Hicks (Jr./Oxford, NC) has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Offensive Back of the Week for the week ending October 9th, 2004 for his recent performance on the football field last weekend versus Livingstone College.
In front of the home crowd at Bowman-Gray Stadium, Hicks racked up 160 yards on 22 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns as the Rams handed the Blue Bears of Livingstone College a 31-21 CIAA league football defeat.
This is the second time that Hicks has garnered Offensive Back of the Week honors as he and teammate Jed Bines look to become the first two backs in WSSU history to both rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.
