Nate Biggs Named Crown Trophy Student-Athlete of the Week

Oct. 23, 2007

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Following the Rams' victory over the Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats, WSSU defensive back Nathaniel Biggs has been selected as the WSSU Crown Trophy Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 21, 2007 for his impressive athletic performance over the past seven days as announced by the Winston-Salem State University Department of Athletics.

Biggs, a 6'0", 190-pound defensive back from Durham, NC (Riverside High School) helped the Rams earn a victory over Bethune-Cookman this past Saturday with five tackles (two solo) and a late-game, game-sealing, red-zone interception as WSSU hung on for an impressive 14-9 win on the road in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Biggs leads the Rams with 32 career starts and has amassed a streak of four consecutive starts this season as he has started all but one game in 2007.

His impressive play over the past seven days has earned him Crown Trophy Student Athlete of the Week honors for the week ending October 21, 2007, marking the second time that Biggs has been awarded athlete of the week honors in his career.
