WSSU In 11th Place After Day One Of BCC Wildcat Golf Invitational; Vogler Sits In Third Overall - WINSTON-SALEM STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

DAYTONA BEACH, FL - The Winston-Salem State University men's golf team currently sits in 11^th place out of the 12 men's teams in attendance at the 2007 Bethune-Cookman College Wildcat Golf Invitational following the first day of action from Indigo Lakes Country Club in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The Rams sit in 11^th place ahead of Hampton University as the Rams posted a team aggregate total of 400 following the first day of competition. However, the brightest spot on the day for WSSU was Joshua Vogler's round of 75.

Vogler sits in third place among all golfers as he is in contention for individual medalist honors. The high round of the day was a 71 with second place being posted with a 74 as Vogler sits only four strokes off the lead.

Vogler led the Rams with a round of 75. He was joined by Jerell Fields who recorded a 91, and Steven Mason who tallied a 93 as the only three Rams to crack the 100 barrier.

Kevin Bryant turned in a 141 and Stanley Johnson fired a 143 to round out the WSSU golfing rounds.

WSSU will look to improve on their 11^th place position on Sunday in final round action as Joshua Vogler looks to try to earn individual medalist honors.
