LOUSIBURG, NC - Lance Holmes and Josh Vogler each recorded rounds in the 70's as they led the Winston-Salem State University men's golf team to a team total of 327 en route to earning a first-place finish in a one-day CIAA golf league match at Bulls Creek Golf Club in Louisburg, NC on Sunday.
The Rams were led by Josh Vogler's round of 77 as he scored in the 70's for the second consecutive match. He was joined by Lance Holmes who recorded a personal-best round of 79.
Holmes and Vogler were helped by Brett Lindquist who fired an 85 and William Monk, III who shot an 86 to earn the Rams a four-person total of 327.
Joshua Sherrill and Ernest Timmons finished with rounds of 97 and 93 respectively as the two golfers' scores were not used for scoring purposes.

The Rams' closest competitors on the day were the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University who scored a 341 on Sunday afternoon to finish in the runners-up position.
All the teams return to action on Monday morning for the start of a two-day intra-division tournament.
