LOUISBURG, NC - At the conclusion of the first day of competition from the CIAA Western Division Golf Challenge at Bulls Creek Golf Club in Louisburg, NC, the Winston-Salem State University Rams sit in third place overall heading into final-round action.

Fresh off of their first-place finish in a one-day medal round the day before, the Rams again came out firing at the flag stick as they turned in three rounds in the 80's en route to a team-total of 344, good enough for a third-place seeding heading into the final round.

Fayetteville State University sits in first place with a four-man team-total of 301, with the Eagles of North Carolina Central close on their heels after turning in a 308.

The Rams, behind a pair of rounds of 83 turned in by Joshua Vogler and Lance Holmes, have entrenched themselves firmly into third place, 15 storkes ahead of fourth-place Elizabeth City State University (359 total).

The Rams will return to action tomorrow in final-round action from Bulls Creek Golf Club in Louisburg, NC.
