PETERSBURG, VA - The Winston-Salem State University men's golf team turned in a first-round total of 315 on Monday morning at the CIAA Eastern Division Golf Championships as the Rams recorded three rounds in the 70's and one round in the 80's en route to a first-day finish that has them sitting in third place headed into Tuesday's final-round action.
The Rams were led by Joshua Vogler who turned in a team-low round of 73. Joining Vogler in the 70's were Lance Holmes (79) and Brett Lindquist (77). Ernest Timmons rounded out the scoring members of the team with a round of 86.
William Monk, II and Joshua Sherrill turned in rounds of 87 and 97 respectively but did not score in the match.
