PORT ST. LUCIE, FL - The Winston-Salem State University men's golf team concluded action at the National Minority Collegiate Golf Championships held at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida on Sunday afternoon with the Rams' tournament-best round of 329 en route to a 12th place finish.

The Rams turned in a total team score of 329 on the afternoon as they held firmly to the 12th place finish in the Division I bracket.

WSSU's Joshua Vogler led the Rams for the third consecutive day as he fired a 76 on the afternoon as he turned in a three-day total of 227 to earn him a 29th-place tie in the individual medalist portion of the tournament as he was 11 over par for the tournament.

Steven Mason and Jerell Fields turned in their best rounds of the tournament as they each recorded five-over-par 77's on the afternoon.

Texas Pan American held on to their lead as they completed the tournament with a wire-to-wire victory as the Broncs earned a one-stroke victory over the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman College.

BCC made a late-day charge as they bettered the Broncs by three strokes on the final day yet fell one stroke short of forcing a two-team playoff en route to silver medalist honors.

The MEAC's Florida A&M Rattlers earned a third-place finish as they completed tournament action only two strokes off the lead.

The Rams 12th-place finish closes out a season of success for Winston-Salem State University as the team retires for the summer and will return to action in September 2007.
