Rams Sit In 10th Place After Day One Of South Atlantic Golf Invitational

Nov. 2, 2004

Greenwood, SC - After day one of the 2004 South Atlantic Golf Invitational held at Hunter's Creek Country Club in Greenwood, SC the Winston-Salem State University Rams are sitting in tenth place after turning in an opening-round 443 on Monday afternoon.

The tournament, being played the first weekend of November following a late September postponement due to rain, is the first action that the Rams have seen since September 14th, 2004, and the long layoff hurt was evident on Monday afternoon.

Leading the way for the Rams was Brett Lindquist who fired an opening-round 89 to record the only WSSU score under 100. Ernest Timmons recorded a 117, Tyrell McClelland tallied a 124, and Spencer Harrell turned in a 113. Norman McCullough made the trip but did not play due to a hand injury.

The Rams will look to improve on their tenth-place finish on day one as they close out the tournament on Tuesday morning. WSSU will tee-off at 10:05 am.
