Rams Shut Out Virginia Union for 5-0 Win

LINCOLN, PA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (5-2, 4-0 CIAA) finished the day undefeated when the team took a 5-0 win over the Virginia Union Panthers (0-6, 0-3 CIAA) on the second day of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up, Saturday  afternoon. The Rams completed the day without a set loss as the team added a 5-0 win over Virginia Union to go along with a 6-0 win over the host Lincoln (Pa.) Lions.


The Rams kicked things off with three straight doubles wins. The Rams took an 8-0 win at the #1 doubles spot, followed by an 8-1 win at #2. The team also took a default win at #3 doubles. The team kept things going in singles play; when WSSU senior Chris Jeter closed the match with an 8-0 win at #5. After claiming a default win at #6 singles, Jeter's win ended the match.
