Rams Take Tough 7-2 Loss to Davis & Elkins

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (6-4) struggled in a 7-2 loss to the Davis & Elkins Senators, Saturday. The Rams fought hard in the match, scoring match points in both doubles and singles play; however, the team could not get the win against the talented Senators.

The freshman tandem of Josh Aubrey and Corey Bonnette was able to earn the opening point for the Rams with a 9-7 win at #2 doubles. However, the effort was the only doubles point that the Rams could muster. In singles play, it was Bonnette who once again stepped up for the Rams with a 6-3, 6-1 win.

However, the two points were all that the Rams could muster in the tough loss.

The Rams will return to action, Monday when the team heads to Charleston, West Virginia to take on the University of Charleston. For more information on Rams tennis, contact the WSSU Office of Athletic Media Relations.
