Rams Roll in 5-0 Win Over Virginia State

RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (8-8, 8-2 CIAA) took a dominating 5-0 win over the Virginia State Trojans (3-7, 3-6 CIAA), Friday afternoon at the Biltmore Hills Park in Raleigh, N.C. The Rams took the win by some impressive performances that included three shutouts.

The Rams got things going early when the team took three straight doubles wins. The #2 doubles tandem of sophomore Josh Aubrey and freshman Corey Bonnette took a dominating 8-0 win. Sophomore Drew Dunzweiler and junior Chris Jeter added an 8-1 #3 doubles win while the #1 tandem of junior Creighton Jones and freshman Jonathan Aubrey added an 8-3 win to complete the doubles victory.

The Rams carried the momentum into singles play. After Bonnette took a #4 singles win by retirement before Jeter sealed the victory with a 6-0, 6-0 win.
