Rocky Mount, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Rams traveled to Rocky Mount, NC to face off against North Carolina Wesleyan College in a non-conference college tennis match on Saturday afternoon, as the Rams returned home with a loss, dropping the 9-0 decision to open the 2005 season.

The Rams would get swept in all nine flights as WSSU fell in defeat to open the 2005 portion of their college tennis schedule.

WSSU's Antonio DeGraffenreadt was the best finisher for the Rams as North Carolina Wesleyan's Zach Marks needed a first-set tiebreaker (8-2) to earn a win at #1 singles by the score of 7-5, 6-3.

The rest of the flights were not as kind to the Rams as WSSU would get swept 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles en route to WSSU finishing singles action trailing 6-0.

North Carolina Wesleyan swept the doubles flights as well as DeGraffenreadt paired with Andrew Jones to turn in the best doubles showing as WSSU fell 8-4 to Zach Marks and Jason Jolly.

With the loss, the Rams fall to 0-1 on the season (0-0 CIAA) while NC Wesleyan improves to 1-0 overall.

The Rams return to action on March 17th, 2005 at 1:00 pm as they will face off against the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University at the WSSU Tennis Complex.
