BUIES CREEK, NC -- The Campbell men's tennis team did not drop a single set Saturday afternoon as it defeated Winston-Salem State 7-0 at the Nisbet Tennis Center. With their second win of the day, the Fighting Camels improved their record to 5-5. The Rams fell to 1-5 on the season with the defeat.
Campbell's Marc Sifre improved his season record to 8-6 with his 6-1, 6-0 win at number-one. Mondini, a freshman from Salvador-Bahia, Brazil, also earned a 6-1, 6-0 singles victory at number-three. Sophomore Sebastian Thesleff improved his singles record to 8-1 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number-four. The Lund, Sweden native teamed with Brent Darden to claim the number-three doubles match, 8-1.
Darden had another successful singles match, earning his second-straight victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win at number-six.
Also earning a singles victory was freshman Alexandre Duval, with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at number-five.
In doubles action, Artoym Starkov and Vasja Gorjup claimed their second-straight win, an 8-1 victory at number-one.
The Rams return to action at 3:00 pm when they face the Eagles of North Carolina Central University at the Nisbet Tennis Center.
