Delaware State Men's Tennis Sneaks By Winston-Salem State, 4-3 - WINSTON-SALEM STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

HAMPTON, VA - The Winston-Salem State University Rams' tennis team dropped a heartbreaking 4-3 decision to the Delaware State University Hornets in Hampton, Virginia as DSU snuck out a 4-3 win in a match that was decided in the day's final contest.

The Rams and Hornets split the first six singles matches as WSSU earned wins at the fourth, fifth, and sixth singles flight as the two teams headed to doubles competition tied at 3-3.

WSSU and the Hornets then split the first two doubles matches before Delaware State's doubles team of Adae Amoako/Florian Pejchar defeated WSSU's team of Andrew Jones/Patrick Jenkins by the score of 9-7 to capture the doubles' point and the match victory.

With the loss WSSU drops to 2-15 overall while Delaware State improves to 4-7 on the season with the win.

WSSU returns to action at 1:00 pm as they face the Bears of Shaw University at the WSSU Tennis Complex on the campus of Winston-Salem State University on Monday, April 2, 2007.
