Winston-Salem, NC - The Shaw University Bears tennis team defeated the Rams at the WSSU Tennis Complex in the second of a pair of tennis matches on Friday afternoon in Winston-Salem, NC as WSSU would record only a single game point as they fell in defeat 9-0 and were easily swept by the Bears who are arguably the CIAA's most talented men's tennis program.
Not only would the Bears win every match at all nine flights, they would give up only a single point to the host-team Rams as they won every eight-game pro-set match by the score 8-0 except for one. WSSU's doubles team of Antonio DeGraffenreadt and Andrew Jones were the only team to record even one point versus the powerhouse Bears.
WSSU returns to action again on Saturday, April 1st, 2005 in Winston-Salem, NC at 1:00 PM as they play host to Virginia Union University in a CIAA women's tennis league contest.
