Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Department of Athletics has announced that the Men's Tennis team will begin the 2004 competition season when they play host CIAA rival Shaw University on March 4th, 2004 at the WSSU Tennis Complex
WSSU Head Coach Leon Kay and his men's tennis players will battle versus the Bears of Shaw in CIAA tennis league action beginning at 1:00 pm.
The WSSU tennis team will be returning to action for the first in 2004 as they look to improve on 2003's 4-10 overall record and sixth place finish at the 2003 CIAA Tennis Championships.
The Rams placed sixth out of eight teams at the 2003 CIAA Tennis Championships last spring in Charlotte, NC, finishing ahead of Virginia Union University and St. Paul's College.
WSSU Head Coach Leon Kay has once again assembled a very talented roster of student-athletes and looks forward to the 2004 season to continue the success of Ram tennis.
