Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Department of Athletics announced on Monday that men's tennis player Patrick Jenkins (Washington, DC) has been named the Crown Trophy-WSSU Student Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 18th, 2005 for his recent on-court performances over the last seven days.
Jenkins, a sophomore in the classroom, but a freshman on the court for the WSSU Rams' tennis team, helped to lead WSSU to a 2-0 record over the past seven days as he collected a pair of wins himself. With the wins over the past week, he earned his third and fourth individual victories of the season. Jenkins, a Business Administration major at WSSU helped to lead the Rams to two wins over Saint Augustine's College as WSSU finished the regular season with a 7-8 overall mark. For his efforts on the tennis courts this past week, he has been named the Crown Trophy-WSSU Student Athlete of the Week.
