2008-09: Competed just once last season, placing eighth in the 200m dash at the Liberty Kick Off at the Tolsma Facility...He posted a time of 23.61...Sat out the 2009 portion of the track & field season.

2007-08: Ja'Eric had a solid freshman season, competing in six total meets...He competed twice in the indoor season...He opened the season at the Liberty Kick Off with a 23.89 in the 200m dash and followed that effort with a 1:15.71 time at the Liberty Fast Times...In the outdoor season, he added the 400m hurdles to his repertoire with a season-best 1:03.66 at the Wake Forest Open...He posted a 22.95 in the 200m dash at the Duke Asics Invitational.

Personal: Ja'Eric Brooks-Shoffner returns to the Winston-Salem State Track & Field team for the third time this fall...A native of Durham, North Carolina, Brooks-Shoffner joins the Rams following a solid high school career...Enjoyed a stellar career in high school track & field...Led the team's 4x400m relay team to the State finals and a second place finish in the 2-AA Mid-State Conference...Competed in the State finals in the 60m dash in the 2006 indoor season...He also competed in the state regionals in the 100m dash and in the 300m hurdles...He was also named the 2005 Rookie of the Year for Outdoor Track wtih the Bulldogs...A Business Administration major...The son of Ricky and Lisa Brooks...Born on December 26, 1988.
