Personal: The 2006-07 season will mark Cowans' second year as a member of the WSSU men's track and field team where he will compete in the 400 meters, 800 meters, and several other middle distance events. A native of Greensboro, NC, he is a graduate of Ragsdale High School where he was a member of the track and field team. The son of Avery and Diana Cowans, he is a Sociology major at WSSU. Born in Greensboro, NC on September 11, 1987. Turned in personal bests of 49 seconds in the 400 meters at the Union Pines Track and Field Meet (2005); 1:59 in the 800 meters at the USATF States Meet (2005); and 1:58 in the 4x8 (split) at the 3A States meet (2005). A member of the Greensboro Champions track and field club.
