Personal: The 2007-08 season marks Gee's third year as an assistant track and field coach at Winston-Salem State University. She was an All-ACC performer as a member of the Varsity track and field team for the Tarheels at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill as a long jumper, triple jumper, and hurdler. She served as captain of the UNC-Chapel Hill women's track and field team during her junior and senior seasons.

Following her graduation she worked for Easter Seals UCP of North Carolina in addition to her duties as an assistant track and field coach at Broughton High School and Cary Academy middle and high schools.

Gee, who was born on April 17, 1981, is a native of Dinwiddie, VA where she was an All-State sprinter as well as being named All-State in the triple jump, long jump, and the hurdles while in high school. She was awarded All-America honors in the long jump in her senior year of high school (1999) as well as garnering All-America honors in the 55-meter hurdles. That same year Gee was ranked third in the nation in the 55-meter hurdles and was ranked fifth in the nation in the long jump. She is also a 2006 NCAA Women Coaches Academy Graduate. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Sociology.
