CONWAY, SC - The Winston-Salem State University men's track and field team turned in a stellar final day of competition at the 2006 Shamrock Track and Field Invitational as the Rams posted nine top-ten finishes as Gerrod Sidbury placed a team-high fifth place in the 400 meters with a time of 49.20 seconds.
Sidbury was not the only Ram to post an impressive day as Richard Marcellus placed sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.26 seconds to collect WSSU's second top-10 finish.
WSSU's Ezra Yowell would collect a seventh place finish in the men's 110 meter high hurdles as he turned in a time of 15.42 seconds. Yowell would also collect a seventh place finish in the high jump as well with a height of 1.93 meters.

When reached for comment, WSSU head coach Halcyon Blake also indicated that the men's 4x400m relays and the men's 4x100m relays had successful showings as well. The men's 4x100m relays placed fourth and the 4x400m relays placed fifth with a "B" team placing seventh.
The nine top-ten finishes is identical to the showing that the Rams posted only a week prior at the 56th Florida A&M Track and Field Relays.
The fledgling program, in only their first year of existence after an extended layoff in which WSSU did not sponsor a program, continues to impress and perform beyond expectations.
The Rams will return to action on
