GREENSBORO, NC - The Winston-Salem State University track and field team's 4x400 meter relay team earned a third-place finish at the NC A&T State University Last Chance Track and Field Invitational over the weekend as they led several Rams in their final attempt to qualify for the upcoming 2006 NCAA Track and Field National Championships.
With a time of 3:15.84, the Rams 4x400 meter relay team, consisting of Gerrod Sidbury (Wilmington, NC), Paul Williams (Winston-Salem, NC), Richard Marcellus (Washington, DC), Jordan Holley (Raleigh, NC) and Corderius Cowans (High Point, NC) earned a third-place finish.
The 4x400 meter relay team would not be the only Rams to turn in impressive performances as Demetrius Rivers (Durham, NC) turned in a 20th place finish in the men's 100 meters with a time of 11.90 seconds. He would be joined by Paul Williams who recorded a 17th place finish with a time of 11.20 seconds.

Gerrod Sidbury earned a seventh place finish in the men's 400 meters with a time of 48.77 seconds immediately prior to his competing in the 4x400 meter relay in which he helped WSSU to a bronze-medal finish.
