GREENSBORO, NC - The Winston-Salem State track and field teams will return to action this weekend when they take part in the International Friendship and Freedom Games this weekend at Irwin Belk Track at Aggie Football Stadium in nearby Greensboro, North Carolina. The event, scheduled for April 20th-21st, will feature some top notch competition and offer the team a chance to get geared up for the 2007 Penn Relays.
The Rams and Lady Rams will take six players each to the meet, including relay teams for both squads that have had some great performances all season long.
The meet will feature teams from the youth, high school, collegiate and open levels. It is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. with the men's and women's 400m hurdles and continue until the 6:00 p.m. Distance Medley. Saturday's events are scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. with the High School Girls 4x800m.
The International Friendship and Freedom Games are sponsored by the Greensboro Convention and Visitors Bureau.
