FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams cross country teams returned to action with some solid performances at the Monarch Cross Country Classic hosted by Methodist University. The Rams women's team placed fourth at the meet while the men's team also saw several improved performances as well.
The Rams women's team totaled 94 points in the meet to take fourth place. WSSU sophomore Ojai Brooks led the way for the Rams when she placed 13th with a 31.34.75 in the women's 6K run while fellow sophomore Victoria Porter added an 18th place finish with a 32:07.16 and sophomore Tamia McLean also placed 19th with a 32:02.02.
The Rams men's team also had a solid day as well in the men's 8K run. WSSU senior Jordan Reaves led the way for the Rams with a 41:06.60 while freshman Marques Perry placed 45th with a 44:08.34 and sophomore Rachard Davis placed 50th with a 46:46.35.
The Rams women's and men's cross country teams will return to action, Friday when the team takes part in the Adidas Cross Challenge hosted by North Carolina State University.
