Rams Post Solid Performances at 35th Annual Greensboro Cross Country Invitational

GREENSBORO, NC – The Winston-Salem State University women's and men's cross country teams continued their season with some impressive performances at the 35th Annual Greensboro XC Invitational. The Rams women's team set the tone with a strong sixth place finish in the women's 5K run while the Rams men were just as impressive in the men's 8K run.

As a team, the Rams women's team totaled 157 points to earn sixth place at the meet. WSSU sophomore Tamia McLean led the way for the Rams, placing 23rd at the meet with a 24:02.71 at the meet. Junior Qjuanda Rowe placed 26th with a 24:36.56 while freshman Jurnae McDowell placed 30th with a 24:54.83.

The Rams men also had a solid day with Charles Terry leading the way with a 55th place finish at 35:39.43. Sophomore Ashley Simon placed 70th with a 43:05.93. Senior Derick Brewer, Jr. placed 72nd with a 44:55.16.

The Rams men's and women's cross country teams will return to action next Saturday when the team takes part in the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge. The men's 8K is scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. start with a 10:05 start for the women's 5K run.
