Charlotte, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Cross Country team was able to earn at least one victory on Wednesday, when they traveled to Charlotte, NC to take on CIAA rivals Johnson C. Smith and Fayetteville State in a CIAA league cross-country match.
The Rams, looking to avenge a loss only a week earlier at the hands of the Golden Bulls did exactly that, as they easily ran past JCSU. However, the Rams were unable to catch the Broncos as Fayetteville State ran past both the Rams and Golden Bulls.
WSSU was led by Lowen Wray (Fr./5'10"/160/Charlotte, NC) who finished second overall, turning in a time of 21:28, only 11 seconds off of the first place finisher.
The Rams would tally 37 points, behind Fayetteville State's 22 and ahead of JCSU's 59. The Rams return to action on September 24th as they travel to Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC to take on the Blue Bears in a CIAA league match.
